Last year a majority of us found ourselves spending more time at home than ever before. When it came to the kitchen we quickly realized we were utilizing this space for more than just cooking. In a way it quickly transformed into our homes command center. The space where homework was completed, friends gathered, & zoom meetings took place.
When it comes to your kitchen design flexibility and functionality are important, but as we start to enter post pandemic life we begin to see our priorities lean towards cleanliness and hygiene.
Here are some of the top kitchen design trends to look out for in 2021.
Warm Colors. Neutral tones will always be one of our favorite kitchen color schemes, but an increase of warmer tones have started to pop up more and more. Warm colors are known to evoke feelings like compassion and comfort. We love seeing our clients add warm tones to their design. Whether this is through an accent wall or a two-toned design, these comfort colors offer a sense of warmth to your space.
Touchless Faucets. A new faucet is a quick upgrade that can bring life back into your kitchen. Did you know they now have touchless faucets? This new faucet feature is not only more hygienic, but also helps you be more productive in the kitchen. Simple commands can turn the water on & off for you when needed! You won’t have to stop what you are doing just to turn your sink on & off.
Increased Storage. This is key! This past year we quickly realized just how much kitchen storage space we were missing. You probably found yourself preparing more meals at home, and in need of extra storage space for small appliances, new spices, and extra wine. Adding a walk in pantry to your space will give you increased storage allowing you to gain some of your counter space back.
Decorative Range Hoods. When it comes to your range hood don’t be afraid to mix things up. You can turn this staple piece into a decorative focal point by extending it past the cabinetry profile or adding an accent color to the mix.
Large Islands. Adding an island to your kitchen design will give you extra space as well as extra storage options. You can use this added section as a dining table, a place to prepare meals, take on zoom meetings, or extra space to entertain guests. The best part is you can customize your island to fit you needs and your style.
This year might just be the year that you transform your kitchen into the stress-free kitchen you need! Don’t be afraid to use a warmer tone, add a decorative hood, and incorporate a touchless faucet to help create your stress-free kitchen design.
